De Pere Students Achieve National Advanced Placement (AP) Recognition

De Pere, Wis. -- The Unified School District of De Pere (USDD) is pleased to announce 86 De Pere High School students received National Advanced Placement® (AP) Scholar recognition in results released recently by the College Board for the 2018-19 school year.

The College Board’s AP Program provides motivated, academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school. By doing so, they can earn college credit, advanced placement or both with successful performance on the AP Exams. Students receive a score between one and five on the exams, with five considered extremely well-qualified to receive college credit or placement.  Seven De Pere students earned multiple awards.

2019 graduate Aaron Milkie was named a National AP Scholar, the highest honor granted to students who receive an average score of at least four on all AP Exams taken, and scores of four or higher on eight or more AP Exams.

AP Capstone Diplomas were awarded to graduates: Julia Doenges; Trinity Giese; Aaron Milkie; Natalie Trupke and Amy Webster for scoring three or higher in year-long AP Seminar and AP Research classes, and on four or more additional AP Exams. Evelyn Poehlman received an AP Seminar and Research Certificate.

* De Pere is the only school district in Brown County, and one of only three in northeastern Wisconsin approved by the College Board to offer the AP Capstone Diploma program.

27 De Pere High School students achieved AP Scholar with Distinction status, granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of three or higher on five or more exams.

21 students were named AP Scholar with Honor, granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of three or higher on four or more exams.

38 students were cited as AP Scholars by achieving scores of three or higher on three or more AP Exams.

De Pere offers 19 AP classes with subjects ranging from microeconomics to English literature and composition.
