Wednesday, August 25, 2021, the USDD Board of Education approved the following regarding COVID-19 mitigation strategies:

Effective August 27, 2021 and into the 2021-2022 school year, the following School District Covid-19 mitigation strategies will go into effect:
  1. Masks are required for students, staff, parents, and visitors at all 4K-6 schools, to be reviewed monthly by the school board.
  2. Masks are highly encouraged in grades 7-12 for students, staff, parents, and visitors, to be reviewed montly by the school board.
  3. Quarantine
    1. Masking Exclusion
In the K–12 indoor classroom setting, the close contact definition excludes students who were within 3 to 6 feet of an infected student (laboratory-confirmed or a clinically compatible illness) if both the infected student and the exposed student(s) correctly and consistently wore well-fitting masks the entire time.
    2. Vaccinated
Anyone who is fully vaccinated will be exempt from quarantine following a known exposure if asymptomatic. People are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 2 weeks after they have received the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna), or 2 weeks after they have received a single-dose vaccine (Johnson and Johnson (J&J).
    3. Prior Covid Positive Test
Anyone who has a confirmed positive Covid test will be exempt from quarantine for a period of 90 days after the positive test date if asymptomatic.
