  • Schools must offer different "sub groups" of vegetables each week including dark green, red/orange, beans/legumes
  • The majority of grains offered must whole grain rich
  • Calorie limits have been set based on age group

Elementary School Lunch
Dickinson, Altmayer, and Heritage Elementary, for the most part, all follow the same monthly lunch menu.  Elementary lunches can provide up to 650 calories.  Each day there is a planned hot entree, but students also have the option of a cold sandwich in place of the entree.  There is a variety of fruits and vegetables available each day as well.

The elementary schools participate in the Harvest of the Month program.  Each month there is an item featured on the menu that can be grown locally.  When at all possible the Harvest of the Month item is sourced locally as well.
