Board of Education Spring 2026: ELECTION INFORMATION 

The Unified School District of De Pere Board of Education has two seats up for the general election on April 7, 2026.

School Board Member - Jeff Dickert

School Board Member - Melissa Niffenegger - NOTICE OF NON-CANDIDACY

Anyone interested in being a candidate for the office of School Board Member in the Unified School District of De Pere and to having their name appear on the Spring 2026 Election Ballot must file a Local Candidate Registration Statement (CF-1L) and a Declaration of Candidacy – School Board Candidates (EL-162sd). These two forms must be filed either by mail or in person and received no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2026, in the USDD district office -1700 Chicago St., De Pere, WI 54115, attention: Amanda Beck. Please note: This new deadline is a 72-hour extension. 

Persons interested in filing candidacy paperwork can download and print the forms or contact Amanda Beck at the district office at 920-983-9174, x 4110, for paper copies.

NOTE: The District Office will be closed December 24 through December 26, 2025 and December 31- January  1, 2026, for winter break. Regular business hours for the District Office are Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.  The District Office will be open until 5:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2026, to receive candidacy documents.

Qualifications for being a School Board Member

1. A citizen of the United States

2. 18 years or age or older; and

3. A resident of the Unified School District of De Pere for at least 28 consecutive days at the time of filing a Declaration of Candidacy.

Important 2026 elections dates

• December 1, 2025 - Earliest Date to file Candidacy papers

• December 26, 2025, 5:00 p.m. – Deadline for incumbents to file Notification of Non-Candidacy and for Clerk to give public notice of Incumbent Noncandidacy (please note district office holiday closure Dec 24-26)

• January 9, 2026, 5:00 p.m. – Deadline for candidates to file Declaration of Candidacy and Local Candidate Registration Statement forms (72-hour extension)

• February 17, 2026 - Spring Primary (only if more than 4 candidates file candidacy papers)

• April 7, 2026 – Spring Elections
