Critical Maintenance Facilities Referendum Update

In November 2024, voters in the Unified School District of De Pere passed a $22 million referendum to fund critical maintenance, safety and security projects in the District.

Construction on Phase One of USDD’s critical maintenance capital referendum projects began at the end of May 2025. Work included:

  • Dickinson Elementary: a new roof; replacement of failed parking, sidewalk and playground concrete; HVAC, fire alarm, electrical, lighting and other systems upgrades. 
  • Foxview Intermediate: new windows, LED lighting, roof above the LMC; replacement of office flooring; and fire alarm system upgrades.
  • Heritage Elementary: repair of all leaking window bump-outs and parking lot asphalt; new LED lighting, replacement of failed bus lot and sidewalk concrete, and health room flooring; other site repairs.
  • De Pere High School: new track and theater curtain; site drainage improvements; a new on-site well and other miscellaneous repairs.
  • In addition, some improvements and equipment replacement was completed at De Pere Middle School and Altmayer Elementary.

Projects at Heritage Elementary and De Pere High School are completed. Projects are Dickinson Elementary and Foxview Intermediate School are scheduled to be completed shortly after the start of the school year. Phase Two projects at USDD buildings will begin in May 2026.
