Welcome New Families!

Welcome to USDD with photos of students and staff

a message from Superintendent Chris Thompson

Dear Families,

Whether you're new to our District, or considering joining us for your child's education journey, we're glad you're here!

The Unified School District of De Pere is committed to fulfilling our mission: In partnership with our families and community, we deliver a distinct educational edge and prepare all learners to be successful and contributing members who serve and lead in our global society.

Families who choose De Pere know the leaders, the innovators, the contributors to tomorrow will emerge from an education based on solid reading, writing, and math skills. An education that nurtures the core attributes of caring, critical thinking and responsibility. An education focused on teaching students how to learn, how to collaborate with others and how to uncover their unique interests, along with the opportunities to pursue them. We offer a wide range of programs and services to meet the needs of our growing community, including strong academics, youth apprenticeships, award-winning arts and athletics, student wellness and more.

In the spirit of partnership, we recognize how important it is to communicate with you frequently and accurately. Families receive communications via email, text, in-person meetings, conferences, direct mail and more. You are always welcome to attend our Board of Education meetings as well.

We are especially proud of our staff who make De Pere one of the top 10 school districts in Wisconsin for 4K-12 students.

Thank you, and we look forward to getting to know you!

Preparing Students for the future: Graduate Profile

The first pillar of USDD’s Strategic Plan states “Educational Excellence: Students will learn the essential skills for continued education, careers, leadership and life readiness through challenging academic and co-curricular programs.”

In addition to academic knowledge, 8 attributes have been identified as key to students’ school and post-graduation success. The attributes were developed with input from parents, students, teachers, community members, representatives of business and industry, and representatives of higher education. These attributes are identified in our Graduate Profile.

USDD Graduate Profile

Even at the earliest grades, we seek to nurture the 8 attributes within students.  The USDD Learning Continuum describes, using ‘I can…’ statements, development of the Graduate Profile attributes -- at every grade level-- as students progress through the school year.  Click on the document below to view the USDD Learning Continuum.
