USDD Learning Continuum

WHat is a learning continuum?

The first pillar of USDD’s Strategic Plan states “Educational Excellence: Students will learn the essential skills for continued education, careers, leadership and life readiness through challenging academic and co-curricular programs.”

In addition to academic knowledge, 8 attributes have been identified as key to students’ school and post-graduation success. The attributes were developed with input from parents, students, teachers, community members, representatives of business and industry, and representatives of higher education. Even at the earliest grades, we seek to nurture these attributes within students.

The Learning Continuum describes, using ‘I can…’ statements, what each student-- at every grade level-- will be able to demonstrate by the end of the academic year, along with academic progress.

Together, the 8 attributes comprise our Graduate Profile
